"MARIPOSA" 

The MARIPOSA project intends to encourage the orientation and empowerment of survivors of domestic and sexual violence through the development of tools that enable them to identify the unhealthy dynamic they are involved in, re-orientate after the crisis, create a personal life plan and avoid the risk of future abuse.

More specifically, our MARIPOSA consortium aims to address these crucial issues by developing four sets of tools. The first two sets, (PR1) “Intervention Set on Victim's Systems and Dynamics Analysis to overcome problems caused by them" and (PR2) “Intervention Set on Victim Support and Empowerment", will specifically target the victims/survivors of domestic and sexual violence and will aim at their activation, self-awareness and empowerment while avoiding the risk of social exclusion and poverty, which represent additional factors of vulnerability. The other two sets pf tools, (PR3) “Guide for Victim Empowerment by Peer to Peer or Group Support” and (PR4) “Capacity Building of Peers in Multiplication and Networking Strategies” target peers and supporters, such as survivors of domestic violence, relatives or friends, and aim at enhancing their skills and competences in providing emotional and social support to potential victims while building their capacity on how to build stable networks and develop messages for effective campaigns against gender-based violence. 

The main project results are the following:

(PR1) Intervention Set "Victim's Systems and Dynamics Analysis to overcome problems caused by them":

This intervention set shall help to analyse and visualize the survivors setting, the systemic risks the survivor is involved in and the resources she has to overcome the crisis and re-program her life. The developed tools will be based on symbolwork.

(PR2) Intervention Set "Victim Support and Empowerment":

This intervention set will include a Personal Coaching Lessons Plan for Empowerment and Motivation which helps the survivor to re-discover motivation, develop a life plan and avoid the risk of poverty, social exclusion and future abuse. The  developed tools will be based on symbolwork. 

(PR3) Guide for "Victim Empowerment by Peer to Peer or Group Support":

This guide will help peers and supporters to provide emotional and social support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, giving them competence and tools on how to organise and run peer to peer support groups the best way and on possible obstacles and challenges to avoid.

(PR4) Capacity Building of "Peers in Multiplication and Networking Strategies":

This capacity building targets peers and supporters and gives them knowledge and tools on how to build stable networks and multiply their messages. In particular, this project result will provide basic information on how to involve other people and plan a campaign.

The project is carried out with the support of the Erasmus + program of the European Union, has a duration of 24 months (January 2022 - January 2024) and is implemented by the following organisations:
