"EDRA" Social Cooperative for Minority Groups is a Non for Profit organization that is providing specialized services in the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities sector in the region of Western Attica. It was established in 2001. EDRA is certified with ISO 9001, registered at the National Registry of the Non Profit Institutions that provide Social Services and in the Special Registry of the Volunteer Non for Profit Organizations. Simultaneously it is under the auspice and the ongoing supervision of the Ministry of Health and Social Services (Department of Mental Health) in the National Action Framework for the reformation of the provision of Mental Health Services (creation and operation of two boarding houses for mental patients).

EDRA is a unique organization mainly due to the variety of its initiatives and offerings that include the provision of: psychological and practical support to boarding houses for the mentally ill, housing and medical care to mentally ill people, legal services, sound and reliable scientific information and a multitude of other specialized services to the mentally ill people as well as to the families of learning disabled children.

The organization consists of the following structures: Two Rehabilitation Houses for Mental Health at Ilion and Peristeri (Psychargos Programme) and one Supportive Housing under the auspice and the ongoing supervision of the Ministry of Health and Social Services (Department of Mental Health), The Centre for the Alternative Occupation and Therapeutic Employment “DIADROMI” at Ilion, Nine Psycho-pedagogical centers for children with Learning Disabilities (at Peristeri, as well as in colaboration with the local authorities in Ilion, Agioi Anargyroi-Kamatero, Dafni-Ymitto, Xaidari, Ilioupoli municipality), The Social Market in Agioi Anargyroi – Kamatero Municipality and Ilioupoli Municipality, Children’s Cultural Club “EKFRASI” and Special Needs Club in the municipality of Ilion, Voluntary Action “Social Intervention” (at Peristeri, Volos, Trikala, Patra).

In this framework and with the goal of informing and sensitizing the community at large EDRA organizes:

• Ιnternational Art4More Festival
• All Attica Prefectures’ Athletic event for persons with special needs
• Seminars, scientific gala events and happenings with Mental Health as its main focus
• Lectures in school settings and work places etc.
